The Corfu Town is the administrative and commercial center of the island. It is located on the east coast of Corfu, on the north side of the peninsula of the Cannon.The new town has been developed southwest, while the old town extends to the northeast between two castles, the New and the Old, which is separated from the rest of the city with an artificial moat.
